Alma J. Wilson, 84, of Springfield, IL, died at 2:05 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born on September 29, 1926 in Auburn, IL to James Henry and Ida Mae Murphy Chambers. She married Wayne C. Wilson on April 19, 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1976. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Chambers and two sisters, Deanie Lonergan and Shirley Tinsley.
Surviving Alma are her three daughters, Sharon Dillon and Linda Wilson both of Springfield and Kathy Brand of Mason City, IL; three grandchildren, Christine (Husband, Scott) Anderson, Justin Brand and Luke Boros; three great grandchildren, John and Dylan Anderson and Destiny Brand and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a very active member of Church of the Little Flower and was a former member of the Ladies Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She retired from Sacred Heart/Heartland Credit Union after 25 years of service.
Visitation: 4-6 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 20, 2010 at Church of the Little Flower with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Church of the Little Flower.
