Alice Edna Heck, 91, of Eaton Rapids, MI, formerly of Buffalo, IL and St. Ignace, MI, died at 2:18 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Dimondale Nursing Care Center in Dimondale, MI. She was born on June 28, 1921 in Royal Oak, MI to the late James and Alice Fisher Vogan.
Alice married Walter John Heck on August 23, 1941 and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1999. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Martin, Thelma Almon and Eileen Harris, and three brothers, Leland, Douglas and Donald Vogan.
Survivors include her Children: Dennis J. (Janis) Heck of Buffalo, Thomas G. (Janice) Heck of Eaton Rapids, MI and Gary L. (Nancy) Heck of Littleton, CO daughter, Pamela Heck-Smith of East Lansing, MI eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Newton of Cass City, MI, Sister In Law, Shirley Vogan of Westland, MI, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ms. Heck was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included reading, square dancing with her husband and flower gardening.
Visitation: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
