Albert James “Jim” Roberts, 75, of Riverton, died at 8:42 pm, Monday, May 7, 2018 at home with his family. He was born March 31, 1943 in Kokomo, IN to Joe and Viola (Ford) Roberts. He married Frances Lawson on September 26, 1970.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; two sons, “Bud” (Valerie Williams) Roberts of Ellabell, GA and “Bill” (Jennifer) Roberts of Riverton; 11 grandchildren, “Bob” (Samantha) Roberts, Jon (Stephanie) Roberts, Alicia Roberts, David, Jeanette, Emberly, Nicole, Nicholas, Katelyn, Cory and Katie; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Kelly and Carol Brown; three brothers, Wayne, Chuck and Roger Davis and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William “Billy” Davis and his canine companion, Ruggy.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed motorcycle riding. He was a member of Laborer Union #477, Spring River Club and River Bottom Rejects. He was owner/operator of Jim’s Welding for many years and currently worked for the Village of Riverton as a mechanic.
Visitation: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Don Goodenow, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
