SPRINGFIELD – Agnes E. Freymuth, 88, of Springfield died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Springfield, the daughter of Simon C. and Loretta Schramm Freymuth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Simon J. Freymuth; and two sisters, Virginia Moser and Loretta Beveridge.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Terry (Glenn) Bottrell of Sherman; a sister-in-law, LaDonna Ferando of Springfield; 20 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great nephews.
Agnes was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
She worked as a cashier for the federal government Internal Revenue Service for 39 years.
She was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and was a current member of St. Joseph’s Church. She also was a member of St. Louise de Marillac Guild, AARP, St. Rose Mission Sewing Group and 55 and Over Club of Sts. Peter and Paul.
Agnes graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul’s grade school in Springfield High School and Brown’s Business College.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of concelebrated funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church in Springfield, with the Reverend John Beveridge and Monsignor Thomas Holinga officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Louise de Marillac or the Mission Youth Group at St. Patrick’s in Elkhart.
