Ruby Mae Cook, 82, of Sherman, died at 10:47 am, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at The Christian Village in Lincoln, IL. She was born on April 30, 1936 in Tazwell, TN to Jacob Charlie and Nora (Brooks) Yeary. She married Claude P. Cook on February 2, 1953 and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2006.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Herbert Yeary, Raymond Yeary, Lafayette Yeary, and Jake Yeary; and two sisters, Dorothy Woodard and Easter Cook.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Cook of Sherman, and Becky (Robert) Rogers of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, Drew (Megan) Rogers, Brittany (Derick) Murphy, Kyle (Crystal) Cook, Matthew Cook, and Adam Cook; six great-grandchildren, Keagan, Ariana, Andy, Max, Mollee, and Monroe; one sister, Betty DeWitt of Tipton, IN; two brothers, Glen (Betty) Yeary of Concord, NC, and Floyd Yeary of Tipton, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby was a member of Living Faith Baptist Church and also enjoyed teaching a college aged Sunday school class at her former church in Indianapolis.

Visitation: 10:00-11:30 am, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home- Sherman.

Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home- Sherman with Pastor Mark Emerson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
