June L. DeFrates, 93, of Florissant, MO formerly of Springfield, IL, died at 7:20 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO. She was born on May 2, 1925 in Springfield, IL to Lester and Alma (Grieves) Robson. She married Bernal DeFrates and he preceded her in death in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ron DeFrates; grandson, Tim DeFrates and brother, Stuart Robson.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet (Wes) Strange of Florissant, MO; one son, Tom (Karen) DeFrates of Colorado; six grandchildren, Phill Smith of Florida, Shelly DeFrates of Springfield, Tracy DeFrates of Colorado, Kim (Paul) Files of Riverton, Kristy (Allen) Moore of Florissant, MO and James (Teresa) Smith of Georgia; eight great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Kathleen DeFrates of Springfield.

June was a long time member of First Church of the Brethren.

Visitation: 10-11:30 am, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Jack Hembree officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital in St. Louis.
